With deepest sorrow, we announce that Ryan Justin Jones, age 35 our most beloved son, brother, and uncle passed on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 while in the hospital with his family by his side in San Diego, CA.
Ryan was born May 21, 1985 in Schenectady, N.Y. and moved to California in 1990. He attended Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, Ca and would later become the Chief Inspiration Officer for Ryan’s Way adult residential facilities serving individuals with severe Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. While his title was honorary, in nature, his journey in this life with developmental disabilities would be the spark that would lead to Ryan’s Way. We learned early in Ryan’s life that he would be on a different path and would do things in his own way.
His interests included keeping up with all his favorite shows such as Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Family Guy, anime, Walker Texas Ranger and the list goes on. He also loved collecting action figures, DVDs, and cold hard cash $$$. One of his talents was watching several things at a time using all his electronic devices. Ryan also liked painting abstract art and randomly video-chatting friends and family in the middle of the night.
Those who knew Ryan, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. His infectious smile and laugh could not help but lift one’s spirit. He faced every day with joy and love.
Ryan will be missed everyday by his family. He is survived by his father, Vincent Jones, his mother and stepfather, Jamie and David Florez, brother John, sister and brother-in-law Sheana and Travis Turner, nephews Owen and Landen Turner, and his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We LOVE and MISS you so much Ryan XOXOXO
A virtual Celebration of Life will be held for Ryan on Saturday, January 30th at 1:00pm (Pacific Time); 4:00pm (Eastern Time).
