Samuel Carson Flynn III, known to his friends and loved ones as Sam, passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2023, at his home in San Diego, California. Born on November 28, 1959, in San Diego, Sam touched the lives of many during his time here on Earth. A wonderful and amazing man, he was not only a loving brother, son, and uncle but also a respected Reverend whose goal was to nourish the soul.
With his kindness, gentle spirit, and infectious laughter, Sam brightened the lives of all those fortunate enough to know him. He had an extraordinary ability to make people feel seen and valued. His warm heart and open mind were a source of solace for many who sought comfort in his presence.
Sam is survived by his beloved sister Elizabeth Pforr and her husband Paul Pforr, of Shalimar, Florida, his niece Alexandria Pforr of Suffolk, VA and her two children Isabella Gayle and Alexander Gayle as well as his great niece, Destiney Pforr of Zephyrhills, Florida.
As a Reverend with a genuine commitment to spiritual growth and understanding, Sam dedicated himself to serving others. His immense compassion knew no bounds. Countless lives were transformed through the wisdom he shared and the support he provided during difficult times.
To honor Sam's remarkable life and bid him farewell with love and gratitude, a Celebration of Life service will be held on December 10th at noon at Vision, A Center for Spiritual Living located at 4780 Mission Gorge Place, Suite H in San Diego. It will be a time for reflection and remembrance as we gather together to share our cherished memories of Sam.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Sam's memory are invited to make donations to the church. These contributions will support the continuation of his life's work, ensuring that his legacy of love, kindness, and spiritual nourishment lives on.
Samuel Carson Flynn III will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of light and love. His legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the memories we carry. Though his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. May he rest in eternal peace.
