It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Garcia Rosa Jr. announce his passing on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the age of 93; he passed away in the comfort of his home, holding the hand of his daughter by his bedside.
Victor will lovingly be remembered by his 4 children, Sons-in-law, Daughter-in-law, 4 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Right out of high school he started his career tuna fishing on bait boats in San Diego; after spending a brief time in the army, he returned to fishing; fishing and the army spanned 16 years. Victor wanted to explore other opportunities in life and following his time fishing, he went into business for himself and had a life-long successful career as an entrepreneur with a declared motto saying he ‘could never work for someone else.’
During his industrious and knowledgeable business career he owned franchises, created investment partnerships, built multi-unit housing projects, brokered business transactions of all types, managed properties and negotiated oil leases.
As a devout Catholic, Victor’s faith was an essential part of his life and when he was physically able, he faithfully attended daily mass and Sunday services; he loved reading the Bible.
Victor loved the Portuguese community in Point Loma and lived in this community throughout much of his life; he was involved in the cultural heritage of Point Loma participating in many events.
As a man, he is remembered for the strict set of principles he lived by and someone who could always be counted on when you needed him; he lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for his sharp mind, great sense of humor and playful, fun personality.
Victor Rosa was a man of faith who lived a life transformed by grace, he loved The Lord, his family, church and community; he ran the race set before him and is now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
He was deeply cherished and loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
