Tuffy was born the youngest of four sons in a small west Texas farming community of Tahoka. Farming cotton was his first career, which he enjoyed. He then worked in the oilfields of north Texas and Oklahoma and off-shore rig in Gulf of Mexico. Then he drove a truck, hauling possessions of the U.S. military from coast to coast each week.
After doing this for a couple of years, he began his career at Tarrant County Sheriff Office, retiring in 2002 with rank of Sergeant. He greatly enjoyed his years at the Sheriff's Office, working in Internal Affairs Div., Confinement, and Labor Detail.
Tuffy is remembered as an honest, fair, caring, and hardworking man with a sense of humor. He is dearly loved by his family and friends, and greatly missed.
